In the 1930’s though, chewing tobacco began to fall out of favor due to the invention of the pre-rolled cigarette but was still popular in the south where the tobacco was grown.

so is oklahoma south or mid west. much discussion can be found on google about this matter. in order to allow bonnie’s dad to chew chewing tobacco i will need to place the family in the south of oklahoma.

Children from disadvantaged homes only wore shoes when the weather was cold. Only had one pair of lace up school shoes wouldn’t have afforded the sneakers other children had as play shoes. Below the ankle shoes had been introduced but as these shoes are hand me downs they would be above the knee more like boots. Girls sandals.
