we’ve found the perfect room to use to film our levitation so today is the day, we’ve got alex a waistcoat and booked four go pros and tripods out of the media loan shop so we’re good to go. well except that we don’t have enough go pro mounts. but nothing a little blu tack won’t fix 🙂
i had no idea go pro’s have no screens, i have an sj4000, which is basically a cheap rip off of the go pro, and it has a screen. so we were a bit concerned as to exactly what footage we would get once we set the tripods up around our ‘magician’. would alex even be in shot? would you be able to see us and the other cameras? we turned the lights down low to try and block out as much as possible and had some low lights on above alex’s head.
we set all the cameras to record and stepped back as alex jumped in the air several times. below you can see the four angles of footage.
alex edited the four clips together making the footage look darker to hide the tripods and us, added a vintage blur and distortion to age it and repeated the sequence several times to make it look longer. i love the eerie look the final cut has.
